বিক্রম ব্যানার্জী, কলকাতা: পাহাড়বাসীর দীর্ঘদিনের দাবিকে মান্যতা দিয়ে অবশেষে সেবক স্টেশন থেকে প্রথমবারের জন্য চালু করা হলো সিকিম মহানন্দা এক্সপ্রেস (Sikkim Mahananda Express)। আজ অর্থাৎ সোমবার দার্জিলিংয়ের সাংসদ তথা বিজেপি নেতা রাজু বিস্তার হাত ধরে যাত্রা শুরু করে এই এক্সপ্রেস ট্রেনটি। যা আলিপুরদুয়ারকে সরাসরি দিল্লির সাথে যুক্ত করবে বলেই খবর। ইতিমধ্যেই নতুন সিকিম মহানন্দা এক্সপ্রেসের উদ্বোধনের খবর নিজের সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া হ্যান্ডেলে ভাগ করে নিয়েছেন বিজেপি সাংসদ।

উপকৃত হবেন বহু মানুষ

সোমবার, দার্জিলিং, তরাই এবং ডুয়ার্স অঞ্চলের সাধারণ মানুষের স্বার্থে সেবক স্টেশন থেকে সবুজ পতাকা উড়িয়ে প্রথম দূরপাল্লার ট্রেন সিকিম মহানন্দা এক্সপ্রেসের শুভ উদ্বোধন করেন বিজেপি সাংসদ রাজু বিস্তা। এদিন বিজেপি নেতার পাশাপাশি উদ্বোধন অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন উত্তর পূর্ব সীমান্ত রেলের উচ্চ পদস্থ আধিকারিকরাও।

এদিন, নতুন এক্সপ্রেস ট্রেন উদ্বোধনের খবর সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় ভাগ করে নিয়েছেন বিজেপি সাংসদ রাজু। তিনি লিখেছেন, “আজ আমাদের দার্জিলিং পাহাড়, তরাই এবং ডুয়ার্স অঞ্চলের জন্য এক গর্ব এবং আনন্দের মুহূর্ত। সেবক রেল স্টেশন থেকে প্রথম দূরপাল্লার ট্রেন সিকিম মহানন্দা এক্সপ্রেস আজ যাত্রা শুরু করল। এই ট্রেন আলিপুরদোয়ারকে সরাসরি দিল্লির সাথে যুক্ত করবে। এর ফলে সেবক, কালিঝোরা, লোহাপুর, লাটপানচর, সিটং, রাম্বি, তিস্তা, লেপচু, পেশোক, তিস্তা উপত্যকা, কালিম্পং, ডুয়ার্স এবং সিকিমের মানুষ এই বিশেষ এক্সপ্রেস পরিষেবার মধ্যে দিয়ে উপকৃত হবেন।”

এদিন বিজেপি সাংসদ আরও লেখেন, “সেবক বর্তমানে বিরাট উন্নয়নমূলক কর্মকাণ্ডের কেন্দ্রবিন্দুতে পরিণত হয়েছে। বালাসন থেকে সেবক এলিভেটেড হাইওয়ে করিডোর প্রকল্পের কাজ অর্ধেক শেষ হয়ে গিয়েছে। শীঘ্রই করোনেশনের বিকল্প সেতুর কাজ শুরু হবে, যা আগামী দিনে সেবককে এলেনবারির সাথে যুক্ত করবে। শিলিগুড়ির রিং রোডটিও সেবকের মধ্যে দিয়ে যাবে। 2027 সালের ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যে সেবক-রাঙপো রেললাইনটিও চালু হয়ে যাবে।”

বিজেপি সাংসদের কথায়, উত্তরবঙ্গে বিশেষ প্রকল্পগুলির হাত ধরে একসাথে গোটা অঞ্চলের অর্থনৈতিক প্রবৃদ্ধি, অঞ্চলগুলির অবকাঠামো ও সংযোগ ব্যবস্থায় আমুল বদল আসবে। এদিন সেবক থেকে বিশেষ এক্সপ্রেস ট্রেন সিকিম মহানন্দা এক্সপ্রেস উদ্বোধন করেই মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদি থেকে শুরু করে রেলমন্ত্রী অশ্বিনী বৈষ্ণবকে ধন্যবাদ জানিয়েছেন পাহাড়ের বিজেপি সাংসদ।
