রবিবার, দিলীপ ট্রফির সেমিফাইনাল ম্যাচে টস জিতে প্রথমে ফিল্ডিং করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেয় পূর্বাঞ্চল। সেই সূত্রেই ব্যাট করতে নামে সেন্ট্রাল জোনের প্লেয়াররা। এদিন অধিনায়ক হিসেবে উইকেট কিপিং করছিলেন ইশান কিষাণ। তবে প্রতিপক্ষ দলের ইনিংস যখন 19 ওভারে গড়াল, আচমকা ডান কব্জিতে চোট পান ভারতীয় তারকা ইশান, যন্ত্রণায় একপ্রকার ছটফট করছিলেন তিনি। যা দেখে তড়িঘড়ি মাঠে ছুটে আসেন ফিজিও।

এদিন, ফিজিও মাঠে আসতেই বেশ কিছুক্ষণ শুশ্রুষা পর্ব চললেও যন্ত্রণা কমছিল না ভারতীয় তারকার। যার কারণে বেশ কিছু পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষার জন্য মাঠের বাইরে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয় ইশানকে। এই সময় হাতে ব্যান্ডেজ বাঁধা ছিল ক্রিকেটারের। এদিকে ইশান মাঠ থেকে বেরিয়ে যেতেই উইকেট কিপারের দায়িত্ব পান কুমার কুশাগ্রা। তবে সবচেয়ে উল্লেখযোগ্য বিষয়, ইশান মাঠ ছেড়ে চলে যাওয়ায় ম্যাচে কিছু সময়ের জন্য অধিনায়কের দায়িত্ব পেলেন 15 বছরের বৈভব সূর্যবংশী। আর তাতেই তৈরি হল বিরল নজির।

বলা বাহুল্য, এদিন ভারতীয় তারকা চোট পেয়ে মাঠ ছাড়তেই মাত্র 15 বছর বয়সী বৈভব সূর্যবংশীর নেতৃত্বে খেলতে হলো ভারতীয় দলের এক সময়কার দাপুটে বোলার তথা অভিজ্ঞ ক্রিকেটার মহম্মদ শামি, মুকেশ কুমারদের। এত অল্প বয়সে অভিজ্ঞ ভারতীয় তারকাদের নেতৃত্ব দিতে পারবেন সেটা বোধহয় স্বপ্নেও কল্পনা করতে পারেননি বিহারের ভূমিপুত্র। প্রতিবেদনটি লেখার আগে পর্যন্ত 243 রানে 9 উইকেট হারিয়েছিল সেন্ট্রাল জোন।
