বিক্রম ব্যানার্জী, কলকাতা: বুধবার ঘন কুয়াশার কারণে ভেস্তে যায় ভারত বনাম দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার চতুর্থ টি টোয়েন্টি (India Vs South Africa)। আর সেই আবহেই বড়সড় ধাক্কা খেলো ভারত! আচমকা চোটের কারণে টি-টোয়েন্টি দল থেকেই ছিটকে গেলেন ভারতের তারকা ব্যাটসম্যান। পিটিআই সূত্রে খবর, অনুশীলন চলাকালীন হঠাৎ চোট পাওয়ায় দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার বিরুদ্ধে চলতি সিরিজের টি-টোয়েন্টি দল থেকেই বাদ পড়তে হলো টিম ইন্ডিয়ার তারকা ব্যাটসম্যান ওরফে সহ অধিনায়ক শুভমন গিলকে।

ঠিক কোন চোটের কারণে বাদ দেওয়া হল গিলকে?

পিটিআইয়ের ওই সূত্র বলছে, চতুর্থ টি টোয়েন্টির আগের দিন দলের সাথে অনুশীলন করছিলেন শুভমন গিল। এমন সময় হঠাৎ পায়ের একটি আঙুলে জোরালো আঘাত পান ভারতীয় তারকা। চোট পাওয়ার পরই ব্যথায় একেবারে কাতরাতে থাকেন শুভমন। শেষ পর্যন্ত পরিস্থিতি বুঝে তাঁকে মাঠ থেকে তুলে নেওয়া হয়। টিম ইন্ডিয়ার কয়েকটি সূত্র দাবি করছে, এদিন পায়ের আঙুলে প্রচন্ড চোট পাওয়ার কারণে খুঁড়িয়ে খুঁড়িয়ে মাঠ ছেড়েছিলেন গিল।

সূত্র বলছে, কিছুদিন আগেই বড় চোট সামলে উঠেছেন গিল। তার উপর ফের দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার বিরুদ্ধে টি-টোয়েন্টি সিরিজ চলাকালীন আচমকা আঙুলের চোট একেবারেই ভালোভাবে নিচ্ছে না টিম ম্যানেজমেন্ট। চোটের গুরুত্ব বিবেচনা করে এই মুহূর্তে গিলকে নিয়ে ঝুঁকি নিতে নারাজ নির্বাচকরা। মূলত সে কারণেই খেলোয়াড়ের দ্রুত সুস্থতার জন্য তাঁকে টি-টোয়েন্টি দল থেকেই বাদ দেওয়া হল!

দলীয় সূত্র মারফত খবর, দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকার বিরুদ্ধে চলতি টি-টোয়েন্টি সিরিজ যেহেতু আসন্ন বিশ্বকাপের প্রস্তুতি ক্ষেত্র তাই, গিলের সুস্থতা সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। তাই শেষ টি-টোয়েন্টিতে তাঁকে বিশ্রামে রাখা হবে। যদিও খেলোয়াড়ের চোট কতটা গুরুতর তা নিয়ে এখনও পর্যন্ত মুখ খোলেননি ভারতীয় ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের কেউই।
