বিক্রম ব্যানার্জী, কলকাতা: ইতিহাসের পাতায় নাম লেখাতে চলল অসম। প্রথমবারের মতো ভারতের এই রাজ্যের সরকার সরাসরি অপরিশোধিত তেল উৎপাদন করতে চলেছে। জানা যাচ্ছে, অসমের নামরূপ বোরহাট-1 কূপে উল্লেখযোগ্য হাইড্রোকার্বন আবিষ্কার করেছেন বিজ্ঞানীরা। আর তাতেই শিরোনামে উঠে এল বাংলার এই পড়শি রাজ্য।

সাফল্যের খবর ভাগ করে নিয়েছেন অসমের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

বুধবার, নিজের X হ্যান্ডেলে অসম সরকারের সাফল্যের খবর নিশ্চিত করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিমন্ত বিশ্ব শর্মা। এদিন সমাজমাধ্যমে একটি মাঝারি পোস্ট শেয়ার করে অসমের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী লেখেন, জ্বালানি নিরাপত্তা এবং অর্থনৈতিক স্থিতিস্থাপকতার ক্ষেত্রে এটি একটি বিরাট পদক্ষেপ।

অয়েল ইন্ডিয়া লিমিটেড রাজ্যের নামরূপ বোরহাট-1 কূপে হাইড্রোকার্বনের উপস্থিতি আবিষ্কার করেছে, যেখানে অসম সরকারের অংশীদারিত্ব যথেষ্ট গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

এরপরই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিমন্ত লেখেন, এই আবিষ্কার অসমকে প্রথম রাজ্য হিসেবে সরাসরি তেল উৎপাদনকারীর স্বীকৃতি দেবে। দীর্ঘ অনুসন্ধান সফল হয়েছে। আগামী দিনে আমাদের রাজ্যই দেশের স্থিতিশীল শক্তির নিশ্চিত করবে।

বড় অংশের চাহিদা মেটাবে অসম!

ডিব্রুগড় জেলার নামরূপহ বোরহাট-1 কূপে হাইড্রোকার্বন রিজার্ভের আবিষ্কারের বিষয়টিকে বিশেষজ্ঞরা শুধুমাত্র অসমের জন্যই নয় বরং ভারতের বৃহত্তম তেল এবং গ্যাস খাতের জন্য একটি দুর্দান্ত কৌশলগত আবিষ্কার হিসেবে বিবেচনা করছেন।

বিশ্লেষকদের একাংশের দাবি, অসম সরকারের এই আবিষ্কার আগামী দিনে রাজ্যটিকে তেল উৎপাদনে একটি সক্রিয় অংশীদারে রূপান্তরিত করবে। যার জেরে ভবিষ্যতে রাজ্য পর্যায়ে রাজস্ব এবং রয়্যালটি তৈরির নতুন দিগন্ত খুলবে এ কথা বলাই যায়।

প্রসঙ্গত, বিগত কয়েক দশক ধরেই ভারতীয় তেল অর্থনীতির একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশ হয়ে রয়েছে অসম। পেট্রোলিয়াম ও প্রাকৃতিক গ্যাস মন্ত্রণালয়ের পরিসংখ্যান বলছে, 2023-24 আর্থিক বছরে, অন্তত 4,361 মেট্রিক টন অপরিশোধিত তেল উৎপাদন করেছিল অসম।

যার জেরে রাজস্থান এবং গুজরাতের পর ভারতের তৃতীয় তেল উৎপাদনকারী রাজ্য হিসেবে স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছিল বাংলার পড়শি। বলা বাহুল্য, 2021-22 ও 2023-24 সালের মধ্যে দেশের মোট 88,223 মেট্রিক টন তেল উৎপাদনের 12,518 মেট্রিক টন অপরিশোধিত তেলই উৎপাদিত হয়েছিল অসমে।
