অনন্যা সরকার, কলকাতা: বিদ্যুৎ দপ্তরের তরফে ইতিমধ্যেই ঘোষণা করা হয়েছে যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে পুরোপুরিভাবে প্রি-পেইড স্মার্ট মিটার (Smart Meter) বসানোর কাজ শুরু হবে আগামী তিন থেকে চার বছরের মধ্যে এ রাজ্যে প্রায় ২ কোটি স্মার্ট মিটার বসবে। এই প্রক্রিয়ার জন্য তোড়জোড় শুরু করেছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য বিদ্যুৎ বণ্টন সংস্থা (WBSEDCL)। যেহেতু এই ব্যবস্থা প্রি-পেইড, তাই বিদ্যুৎ পাওয়ার জন্য আগে থেকে স্মার্ট মিটার রিচার্জ করা বাধ্যতামূলক। সময় মতো রিচার্জ না করার ফলে অ্যাকাউন্ট ব্যালেন্স ফুরিয়ে গেলে বিদ্যুৎ সংযোগ বন্ধ করে দেওয়া হবে। ইতিমধ্যেই WBSEDCL ৭ লক্ষেরও বেশি স্মার্ট মিটার বসিয়েছে। তবে পোস্ট-পেইড থেকে প্রি-পেইড স্মার্ট মিটারে যাওয়ার আগে কিছু জিনিস খেয়াল রাখতে হবে। আসুন এগুলি সর্ম্পকে বিশদে জেনে নিই। 

প্রি-পেইড স্মার্ট মিটার লাগানোর আগে এটি অবশ্যই করতে হবে

জুলাই মাস থেকে পশ্চিমবঙ্গে প্রি-পেইড স্মার্ট মিটার লাগানোর প্রক্রিয়া পুরোদমে শুরু হবে। যাদের বাড়িতে স্মার্ট মিটার লাগানো হবে তাদের আগে থেকে কিছু জিনিস জেনে রাখলে পরবর্তীকালে সুবিধা হবে। যেমন – স্মার্ট মিটার রিচার্জ করা থেকে বিদ্যুৎ খরচের যাবতীয় হিসেব-নিকেষ – সব তথ্য দেখা যাবে WBSEDCL-এর নিজস্ব অ্যাপ্লিকেশনে। তবে সূত্র মারফৎ জানা গেছে যে, পোস্ট পেইড থেকে প্রি-পেইড ব্যবস্থায় যাওয়ার আগে বিদ্যুতের বকেয়া বিল মিটিয়ে দিতে হবে। তার জন্যেও কিছু নিয়ম রয়েছে যা, আগামী ১ আগস্ট থেকে কার্যকরী হবে।

বকেয়া বিল মেটাতে কী করতে হবে?

স্মার্ট মিটার বসানোর আগে বাকি থাকা বিল মেটানোর জন্য মূলত দুটি বিকল্প আছে। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাজ্য বিদ্যুৎ বন্টন সংস্থার ওয়েবসাইট থেকে বিল ডাউনলোড করে পুরো টাকা মিটিয়ে দেওয়া যায়। তবে যারা একসঙ্গে পুরো টাকা দিতে পারবেন না, তাদের জন্য দ্বিতীয় বিকল্পটি রয়েছে। WBSEDCL ৩০০ দিনের কিস্তিতে বিল মেটানোর সুযোগ দিচ্ছে।

সম্প্রতি গ্রাহকদের মধ্যে বিভ্রান্তি দূর করার জন্য বিদ্যুৎ সংস্থার তরফে জানানো হয়েছে যে, স্মার্ট মিটারের ব্যালেন্স শেষ হয়ে গেলে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে বিদ্যুৎ বন্ধ করা হবে না। ৩০০ টাকা পর্যন্ত বিদ্যুৎ অগ্রিমভাবে ব্যবহার করা যাবে। তারপরও রিচার্জ না করলে বিদ্যুৎ সংযোগ বিচ্ছিন্ন করা হতে পারে। তাছাড়া ছুটির দিন, রবিবার এবং অফিস টাইমের বাইরে ব্যালেন্স ফুরিয়ে গেলে বিদ্যুৎ বন্ধ করা হবে না।
