বিক্রম ব্যানার্জী, কলকাতা: পাহাড়ে জঙ্গলের মধ্যে দিয়ে টয়ট্রেনে ভ্রমণ ছেলেবেলায় পাঠ্য বইয়ের কোনও না কোনও গল্পে খুঁজে পেয়েছেন অনেকে (Toy Train Jungle Safari)। পাহাড়ের ঘন জঙ্গলের মধ্যে দিয়ে কু ঝিকঝিক শব্দে ছুটে চলে খেলনা গাড়ি ট্রয়ট্রেন.. তবে মাঝে উত্তরবঙ্গের জঙ্গল সাফারি থেকে একপ্রকার মুছে গিয়েছিল এই বস্তুটি। এবার দার্জিলিং হিমালয়ান রেলওয়ের উদ্যোগে দীর্ঘ সময় পর মহানন্দা অভয়ারণ্যকে ঘিরে ফের টয়ট্রেন সাফারি চালু হল।

6 বছর পর ফের চালু হল টয়ট্রেন পরিষেবা

উত্তরবঙ্গে টয়ট্রেনের যাত্রা পথের একটা বৃহৎ অংশ মহানন্দা অভয়ারণ্য। সেই অভয়ারণ্যকে ঘিরেই বহু আগে শুরু হয়েছিল টয়ট্রেন পরিষেবা। মাঝে নানান রকম কারণে তা থমকে গেলেও দীর্ঘ 6 বছর পর দার্জিলিং হিমালয়ান রেলওয়ের উদ্যোগে একেবারে পিপিপি মডেলে চালু হলো সেই বিশেষ পরিষেবা। পাহাড়ের বুক চিড়ে ঘন জঙ্গলের মধ্যে দিয়ে খেলনা গাড়ির সাফারি ফের উপভোগ করার সুযোগ পাবেন যাত্রীরা।

এ নিয়ে দার্জিলিং হিমালয়ান রেলওয়ে কর্তৃপক্ষের বক্তব্য, দীর্ঘদিন এই টয়ট্রেন পরিষেবা বন্ধ থাকায় যথেষ্ট অস্বস্তিতে ছিলেন পর্যটকরা। তবে নতুন করে পিপিপি মডেলে এই বিশেষ পরিষেবা চালু হওয়ায় টয়ট্রেনে চেপে জঙ্গল সাফারির মজা নিতে এবার উত্তরবঙ্গে উপচে পড়বে ভিড়! এই বিশেষ পরিষেবা পর্যটকদের আরও আকৃষ্ট করবে বলেই আশাবাদী রেল কর্তৃপক্ষ।

সবচেয়ে বড় কথা, মহানন্দা অভয়ারণ্যের দীর্ঘ পথ অতিক্রম করার সাথে সাথে দার্জিলিংয়ের পাহাড়ি প্রকৃতি, চা বাগানের মনোরম দৃশ্য সহ গোটা প্রাকৃতিক সৌন্দর্য টয়ট্রেনের যাত্রীদের সামনে একেবারে নতুন রূপে ধরা দেবে। এ প্রসঙ্গে দার্জিলিং হিমালয়ান রেলওয়ের ডিরেক্টর ঋষভ চৌধুরী জানিয়েছেন, “পর্যটকদের আকর্ষিত করতে শুধুমাত্র জঙ্গল সাফারি নয়, সেই সাথে একাধিক নতুন সাফারি চালু করার পরিকল্পনা চলছে। তবে বিশেষ টয়ট্রেন পরিষেবা নতুন করে চালু হওয়ায় উত্তরবঙ্গের পর্যটন শিল্পের অনেকটাই উন্নতি হবে।”

ঋষভ বাবু জানান, “এই টয়ট্রেন পরিষেবা পিপিপি মডেলে চালু করার উদ্দেশ্য স্থানীয় পর্যটন শিল্প এবং কর্মসংস্থানকে প্রাধান্য দেওয়া।” তিনি এও জানান, রাতের দিকে কোনও টয়ট্রেন চলবে না। শুধুমাত্র দিনের বেলায় দুটি রাইড সম্পন্ন হবে।” সেজন্য ইতিমধ্যেই বেশ কিছু ইঞ্জিন নিয়ে আসা হয়েছে। সংরক্ষণ করা হয়েছে ব্রিটিশ আমলের কিছু কোচও। সবমিলিয়ে, উত্তরবঙ্গের পর্যটকদের সবদিক থেকে জঙ্গল সাফারির আনন্দ দিতে বদ্ধপরিকর দার্জিলিং হিমালয়ান রেলওয়ে।
