তবে যদি শুধু বিশ্বকাপের পরিসংখ্যান নিয়ে কথা বলা যায়, সে ক্ষেত্রে টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপের ইতিহাসে আজকের ম্যাচের আগে পর্যন্ত মোট 5 বার একে অপরের মুখ দেখেছে ভারত এবং ইংল্যান্ড। সেই আসরে মাত্র দুবার জিততে পেরেছে ইংরেজরা। বাকি তিন বারই জিতেছে ভারত। বলে রাখা ভাল, 2022 সালের টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপের সেমিফাইনালে ভারতকে 10 উইকেটে হারিয়েছিল ইংল্যান্ড। তবে দু বছর পরে হলেও 2024 এর সেমিফাইনালে ইংল্যান্ডকে 68 রানে গুটিয়ে বদলা নিয়েছিল টিম ইন্ডিয়া। সে ক্ষেত্রে বলাই যায়, টি-টোয়েন্টিতে এই মুহূর্তে সব দিক থেকে ইংল্যান্ডের তুলনায় এগিয়ে ভারত।
