সৌভিক মুখার্জী, কলকাতা: ভয়াবহ ভূমিকম্পকে কেঁপে উঠল ইন্দোনেশিয়া (Indonesia Earthquake)। সূত্রের খবর, ইন্দোনেশিয়ার পাপুয়া প্রদেশ আজ সকালে 6.7 মাত্রার ভূমিকম্পে কেঁপে উঠেছে। এমনকি জানা যাচ্ছে, ভূমিকম্পটি 70 কিলোমিটার গভীরতায় আঘাত হেনেছে। ফলত, চরম আতঙ্ক সৃষ্টি হয়েছে শহরবাসীর মধ্যে।

কোথায় হল এই ভূমিকম্প?

USGS-এর তরফ থেকে জানানো হয়েছে, এই ভূমিকম্পের কেন্দ্রস্থল ছিল আবেপুরা শহর থেকে মোটামুটি 200 কিলোমিটার দূরে। উল্লেখ্য, আবেপুরার জনসংখ্যা মোটামুটি 62,000। আর এই ভূমিকম্পটি ঘটেছে 2.31° দক্ষিণ অক্ষাংশ এবং 168.86° পূর্ব দ্রাঘিমাংশে। তবে হ্যাঁ, ভূমিকম্পের পর কোনওরকম সুনামি সতর্কবার্তা জারি করা হয়নি বলেই জানানো হয়েছে প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরীয় সুনামি সর্তকতা কেন্দ্রের তরফ থেকে।

দাভাও ওরিয়েন্টালের গভর্নর সংবাদমাধ্যমকে বলেছেন, আমি আমার গাড়ি চালাচ্ছিলাম। হঠাৎ করে দেখি গাড়িটি দুলতে শুরু করেছে এবং আমি দেখতে পাই বিদ্যুতের তারগুলি প্রবল ভাবে দুলছে। এরপর মাটি কাঁপতে শুরু করল এবং বিদ্যুৎ চলে যাওয়ার সাথে সাথেই লোকেরা ঘরবাড়ি ও অফিস থেকে বেরিয়ে আসে। তখনই বোঝা যায় ভূমিকম্প।

উল্লেখ্য, এর মাত্র একদিন আগেই ফিলিপিন্সের দক্ষিণ উপকূলের 7.4 মাত্রার ভূমিকম্পে কমপক্ষে 7 জনের মৃত্যুর খবর এসেছিল। আর ওই ভূমিকম্পের পর মার্কিন প্রশান্ত মহাসাগরীয় সুনামি সতর্কবার্তা কেন্দ্র ফিলিপিন্সের দক্ষিণ মিন্দানাও অঞ্চল এবং ইন্দোনেশিয়ার উত্তর সুলাওয়েসির শহরে সুনামি সতর্কবার্তাও জারি করেছিল। তবে তা পরে প্রত্যাহার করে নেওয়া হয়। যদিও আজকের ভূমিকম্পে সেরকম হতাহতের ঘটনা ঘটেনি বলেই বেশ কয়েকটি সংবাদসংস্থা অনুযায়ী খবর।
