সৌভিক মুখার্জী, কলকাতা: সোনার প্রতি ভারতীয়দের আকর্ষণ শুধুমাত্র অলংকার বা ঐতিহ্যের মধ্যে সীমাবদ্ধ এমনটা নয়, বরং এখন বিশ্বের বৃহত্তম ব্যক্তিগত সম্পদেও পরিণত হয়েছে এই সোনা। হ্যাঁ, ASSOCHAM এর সাম্প্রতিক রিপোর্ট অনুযায়ী, ভারতীয় পরিবারগুলোর কাছে নাকি গচ্ছিত সোনার পরিমাণ (Gold Reserve) বর্তমানে ৫ ট্রিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলারের গণ্ডি ছুঁয়ে ফেলেছে, যা ভারতীয় মুদ্রায় ৪১৬ লক্ষ কোটি টাকা। আর এই পরিমাণ সোনা বিশ্বের প্রথম সারির দশটি দেশের কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাঙ্কের (Central Bank) সম্মিলিত সোনা রিজার্ভের থেকেও বেশি।

পরিসংখ্যানে বিরাট চমক

ওয়ার্ল্ড গোল্ড কাউন্সিল এবং ASSOCHAM এর তথ্য অনুযায়ী, ভারতের সরকারি কোষাগারে সোনার পরিমাণ আনুমানিক ৮৮০.৩ টন। আর সেখানে বিশ্বের বৃহত্তম সোনার ভান্ডার রয়েছে আমেরিকার হাতে। পরিমাণে তা ৮১৩৩.৫ টন। কিন্তু যখন সাধারণ ভারতীয় গৃহস্থলীর সঞ্চয়ের হিসাব করা হয়, তখন সেই পরিসংখ্যানে বিশ্বের তাবড় তাবড় অর্থনীতিকে হার মানতে হচ্ছে। আমরা যদি শীর্ষ ১০টি কেন্দ্রীয় ব্যাঙ্কের সোনার পরিমাণ দেখি তাহলে দেখতে পাবো—

  • আমেরিকার কাছে রয়েছে ৮১৩৩.৫ টন
  • জার্মানির কাছে আছে ৩৩৫০.৩ টন
  • ইতালির কাছে ২৪৫১.৮ টন
  • ফ্রান্সের কাছে আছে ২৪৩৭ টন
  • রাশিয়ার কাছে আছে ২৩১১ টন
  • চীনের কাছে আছে ২৩০৮.৫ টন
  • সুইজারল্যান্ড এর কাছে ১০৩৯.৯ টন
  • ভারতের কাছে রয়েছে ৮৮০.৩ টন
  • জাপানের কাছে আছে ৮৪৬ টন এবং
  • নেদারল্যান্ডের কাছে আছে ৬১২.৫ টন।

রিপোর্টে দেখা যাচ্ছে, ভারতীয়দের ঘরোয়া সোনার মোট মূল্য আমেরিকা এবং চিন ছাড়া বিশ্বের প্রায় সমস্ত দেশের বার্ষিক জিডিপির থেকেও অনেকটাই বেশি।

অর্থনীতির গেম চেঞ্জার হতে পারে সোনা

ASSOCHAM তাদের রিপোর্টে দাবি করছে যে, অলংকার হিসেবে পড়ে থাকা এই অলস সম্পদ যদি সঠিক উপায় দেশের অর্থনীতির ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার করা যায়, তাহলে ভারতের আর্থিক চেহারা সম্পূর্ণ বদলে যাবে। প্রতিবছর যদি গৃহস্থলীর সঞ্চিত সোনার মাত্র ২ শতাংশ ফিনান্সিয়াল সিস্টেম বা ব্যাংকিং চ্যানেলে আনা যায়, তাহলে নাকি ২০৪৭ সালের মধ্যে মোট সোনার ৪০ শতাংশ উৎপাদনশীল কাজে ব্যবহার করা যাবে। এমনকি এই পদ্ধতির মাধ্যমে ভারতের জিডিপিতে অতিরিক্ত ৭.৫ ট্রিলিয়ন ডলার যুক্ত হতে পারে। যার ফলে ২০৪৭ সালে ভারতের সম্ভাব্য অর্থনীতির আকার ৩৪ ট্রিলিয়ন ডলার থেকে বেড়ে ৪১.৫ ট্রিলিয়ন মার্কিন ডলারে পৌঁছতে পারে।
