সৌভিক মুখার্জী, কলকাতা: ভারতের গাড়িপ্রেমীদের কাছে মাহিন্দ্রা থার (Mahindra Thar) শুধুমাত্র কোনো গাড়ি নয়, বরং এক আবেগ। হ্যাঁ, 2020 সালে বাজারে আসার পর থেকেই এই SUV বিক্রিতে একেবারে ঝড় তুলেছে। সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে থার রক্স লঞ্চ হওয়ার পর এর জনপ্রিয়তা আরো বেড়েছে। তবে 5 বছর কেটে যাওয়ার পর এখন থারের নয়া রূপের অপেক্ষায় গাড়িপ্রেমীরা।

যদিও মাহিন্দ্রার তরফ থেকে এখনো অফিশিয়ালভাবে কিছু জানানো হয়নি। তবে গাড়ি বিশেষজ্ঞরা মনে করছে যে, চলতি বছরের সেপ্টেম্বর মাসেই বাজারে আসতে পারে নতুন মাহিন্দ্রা থার ফেসলিফ্ট। কারণ এর টেস্টিং মডেল ইতিমধ্যেই নজর কেড়েছে।

কী থাকবে নতুন ফিচার?

জানা যাচ্ছে, নতুন থারে এবার বেশ কিছু আপডেট থাকবে। প্রথমত, ভার্টিক্যাল ফ্ল্যাট গ্রিল থাকবে, যা একেবারে থার রক্সের মতো। দ্বিতীয়ত, এলইডি প্রজেক্টর হেডলাইট দেওয়া থাকবে, যার সঙ্গে C-আকৃতির DRL যুক্ত থাকবে। তৃতীয়ত, ফ্রন্ট বাম্পার, ফগ ল্যাম্প আর LED ইন্ডিকেটরও হবে একেবারে রক্সের মতো। অর্থাৎ, সামনের অংশে কিছু ভিজ্যুয়াল আপগ্রেড দেখা যেতে পারে।

কেবিনেও থাকবে চমক

উল্লেখ্য, থারের টেস্ট মডেলে দেখা গিয়েছে ইন্টেরিয়ারে বিরাট পরিবর্তন। পুরনো 7 ইঞ্চি ইউনিটের বদলে এবার 10.25 ইঞ্চি ফ্রি-স্ট্যান্ডিং ইনফোটেইনমেন্ট স্ক্রিন থাকতে পারে। আর এতে ওয়্যারলেস অ্যান্ড্রয়েড অটো ও অ্যাপেল কারপ্লে সাপোর্ট দেওয়া থাকবে। পাশাপাশি রক্সের মতো স্টিয়ারিং হুইল থাকবে। এখনো পর্যন্ত অনুমান করা হচ্ছে, এই গাড়িতে ম্যানুয়াল IRVM থাকবে। আর নতুন করে কিছু ক্যামেরাভিত্তিক সেফটি ফিচার যেমন ADAS যোগ করা হতে পারে।

ইঞ্জিন এবং পারফরম্যান্স

ইঞ্জিনের দিক থেকে সেরকম কোনো পরিবর্তন আনার সম্ভবনা দেখা যাচ্ছে না। কারণ এই গাড়িতে থাকবে 1.5 লিটার ডিজেল, 2.2 লিটার ডিজেল এবং 2.0 লিটার পেট্রোল ইঞ্জিনের অপশন। আর আগের মতোই RWD ও 4WD কনফিগারেশন দেওয়া থাকবে। অর্থাৎ, পারফরম্যান্সে সেই পুরনো থারের মতোই কামাল দেখাবে এবারের মডেল। তবে ফিচার ও লুকে কিছু নতুনত্ব আনা হচ্ছে।
