অনন্যা সরকার, নয়াদিল্লি: ভারতে বিভিন্ন ভোজ্য তেল (Cooking Oil) কোম্পানি বিভিন্ন পরিমাণের প্যাকেটে তেল বিক্রি করে। কোনোটায় থাকে ৭৫০ গ্রাম, আবার কোনোটায় ৮০০ গ্রাম। কিছু বিক্রি হয় ৭৩০ গ্রামের পাউচে, আবার কোনো প্যাকেটে লেখা থাকে ১ লিটার। এই নানারকম পরিমাপের হিসেব বিভ্রান্ত করে ক্রেতাদের। তবে গতকাল (৬ জুন) একটি নির্দেশিকায় ভোজ্য তেল নির্মাতা ও আমদানিকারকদের নির্দিষ্ট প্যাক সাইজে (Standard Pack Size) ভোজ্য তেল বিক্রির নির্দেশ দিল ভারত সরকার। এতে গ্রাহকদের মধ্যে বিভ্রান্তি দূর হবে এবং বিভিন্ন ব্রান্ডের মধ্যে দাম তুলনা করে দেখা সহজ হবে। 

নতুন মাপের প্যাকেজিং আনার জন্য তিন মাসের সময়সীমা বেঁধে দিল সরকার

এদেশে ভোজ্য তেল বিক্রির ক্ষেত্রে বিভ্রান্তিমূলক মূল্য নির্ধারণী কৌশল অবলম্বন করে কোম্পানিগুলো। তারা বাজারে অদ্ভুত ও অপ্রচলিত পরিমাপের প্যাকেট বিক্রি করে। ফলে গ্রাহকদের সাশ্রয়ী ব্র্যান্ডটি খুঁজে নিতে সমস্যার মুখে পড়তে হয়। তবে এই সমস্যা দূর করতে ২০০ মিলিলিটার থেকে ২০ লিটার পর্যন্ত মাত্র নয়টি আদর্শ বা স্ট্যান্ডার্ড সাইজ নির্ধারণ করে দেওয়া হয়েছে। 

এই নিয়ম দেশীয় ও আমদানীকৃত উভয় প্রকারের তেলের ক্ষেত্রেই প্রযোজ্য। স্ট্যান্ডার্ড সাইজের প্যাকেজিংয়ের আওতায় রয়েছে সরষে, পাম, সয়াবিন, সূর্যমুখী, রাইস ব্রান, চিনাবাদাম সহ সমস্ত প্রধান ভোজ্য তেল। রিপোর্ট অনুযায়ী, নতুন প্যাকেজিং ব্যবস্থা চালু করতে তিন মাস সময় দেওয়া হয়েছে কোম্পানিগুলিকে। যে সমস্ত তেলের প্যাকেটে পরিমাণ আয়তনের ভিত্তিতে লেখা হবে, সেখানে ওজনও উল্লেখ করে দিতে হবে বলে জানিয়েছে সরকার। এতে গ্রাহকদের কাছে ব্র্যান্ডগুলির দামের মধ্যে তুলনা করা সহজ হয়ে উঠবে।

তবে বাজারে সাশ্রয়ী মূল্যে ছোট প্যাকেটের উপলব্ধতা বজায় রাখার জন্য ২০০ মিলিলিটারের কম পরিমাণের প্যাকেটগুলিকে এই নিয়মের বাইরে রাখা হয়েছে। এছাড়া, কিছু স্বল্প পরিচিত ভোজ্য তেল এই নিয়মের আওতামুক্ত। ভারতের ভোক্তা বিষয়ক দপ্তরের তরফে জানানো হয়েছে যে, ভোজ্য তেলের ক্ষেত্রে ৯০% প্রতিনিধিত্বকারী ইন্ডাস্ট্রিগুলির সাথে আলোচনা করেই এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে।
