বিক্রম ব্যানার্জী, কলকাতা: ফের নিজেকে দেশের গর্ব প্রমাণ করলেন তরুণ দাবাড়ু রমেশবাবু প্রজ্ঞানন্দ (R Praggnanandhaa)। এবার বড় কীর্তি গড়লেন এই ভারতীয় প্রতিভা। পিছিয়ে থাকলেও শেষ পর্যন্ত ফাবিয়ানো কারুয়ানার বিরুদ্ধে প্রত্যাবর্তন করে জয় ছিনিয়ে নেন 21 বছর বয়সি দাবাড়ু। আর সেই সূত্র ধরেই গ্র্যান্ড চেস (Chess) ট্যুরের চ্যাম্পিয়ন হলেন তিনি। বলাই বাহুল্য, ভারতের প্রথম দাবাড়ু হিসেবে এই গ্র্যান্ড চেস ট্যুর খেতাব জিতলেন প্রজ্ঞানন্দ। তৈরি হয়ে গেল নতুন ইতিহাস।

শুরুতে পিছিয়ে থেকেও ফাইনাল জয় প্রজ্ঞানন্দের

গ্র্যান্ড চেস ট্যুর ফাইনালের মঞ্চে শুরুর দিকে অবশ্য এগিয়েছিলেন কারুয়ানা। যার কারণে প্রথম ক্লাসিক্যাল ম্যাচে 0-6 ব্যবধানে হেরে যেতে হয়েছিল প্রজ্ঞাকে। তবে ঘুরে দাঁড়ান দ্বিতীয় আসরে। জিততে না পারলেও দ্বিতীয় ক্লাসিক্যাল ম্যাচে 3-3 ড্র করেন তিনি। তা সত্ত্বেও শেষ দিনের খেলা শুরু হতেই 6 পয়েন্টে লিড নিয়ে নেমেছিল কারুয়ানা। তাতে অবশ্য সমস্যা হয়নি প্রজ্ঞানন্দর। এদিন র‍্যাপিড পর্বের একেবারে শুরু থেকেই দাপট দেখাতে থাকেন তিনি।

শুরু থেকে পিছিয়ে থেকেও শেষ দিনে যে এভাবেও যে খেলা ঘুরিয়ে দেওয়া যায় সেটা বোধহয় প্রজ্ঞাকে না দেখলে বোঝা যাবে না। এদিন শেষ মুহূর্তের খেলায় পরপর দুই ম্যাচে প্রতিপক্ষ প্লেয়ারকে হারিয়ে গোটা ছবিটা বদলে দেন প্রজ্ঞানন্দ। ব্লিৎজ় পর্বে একটানা চাপ সামলে শেষ পর্যন্ত 15-13 ব্যবধানে জয় হাসিল করেন ভারতীয় দাবাড়ু। আর এই জয়ের হাত ধরেই ভারতের মুখ উজ্জ্বল করেছেন প্রজ্ঞা।

ভারতের ইতিহাসে প্রথমবারের মতো গ্র্যান্ড চেস ট্যুর চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছেন প্রজ্ঞানন্দ। ভারতীয় দাবাকে এক অন্য মাত্রায় নিয়ে গিয়েছেন তিনি। এত অল্প বয়সে এই কীর্তি যথেষ্ট বিরল সে কথা বলার অপেক্ষা রাখে না। তবে দেশের হয়ে প্রথমবারের মতো দাবায় এত বড় খেতাব জয়ের সাথে সাথে মোটা টাকা ঘরে তুলেছেন প্রজ্ঞা। গ্র্যান্ড চেস ট্যুরের চ্যাম্পিয়ন হতেই ভারতীয় দাবাড়ুর হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হয়েছে 2 লক্ষ মার্কিন ডলারের চেক। ভারতীয় মুদ্রায় যা 1 কোটি 91 লাখ টাকা।
