বিক্রম ব্যানার্জী, কলকাতা: ভারতীয় রেল পরিবহনে জুড়ছে নয়া পালক। আজই প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির হাত ধরে চালু হতে চলেছে দেশের সবচেয়ে দ্রুততম মেট্রো। হ্যাঁ জানা যাচ্ছে, রবিবার উত্তরপ্রদেশের মেরঠে দেশের প্রথম দ্রুততম মেট্রো উদ্বোধন করবেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী (India’s Fastest Metro)। সবচেয়ে অবাক করা বিষয়, এই মেট্রোটি মাত্র 30 মিনিটেই 12টি স্টেশনে থেমে নিজের যাত্রা সম্পন্ন করবে। কত স্পিডে ছুটবে এই ট্রেন?

রিপোর্ট অনুযায়ী, রবিবার প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদির হাত ধরে উত্তর প্রদেশের মেরঠ দক্ষিণ থেকে মোদিপুরম পর্যন্ত 21 কিলোমিটার পথ অতিক্রম করবে এই বিশেষ মেট্রোটি। জানা যাচ্ছে, নিজের যাত্রাপথে 120 কিলোমিটার প্রতি ঘন্টা গতিতে ছুটবে এই ট্রেন। সবচেয়ে উল্লেখযোগ্য বিষয়, দেশের সবচেয়ে দ্রুততম মেট্রোটি ভারতীয় রেলের গর্ব নমো ভারত ট্রেনের সাথে একই ট্র্যাকে ছুটবে।

জানা গিয়েছে, তিন কোচ বিশিষ্ট স্টেইনলেস কামরা দিয়ে তৈরি এই মেট্রোটি ওজনে অনেকটাই হালকা। আর পাঁচটা মেট্রোর তুলনায় এই মেট্রো পরিচালনায় খরচ অনেকটাই কম বলেই রেল সূত্রে খবর। শুধু তাই নয়, তিন কোচের এই মেট্রোতে রয়েছে বিশেষ রিজেনারেটিভ ব্রেকিং সিস্টেম। এছাড়াও থাকছে অটোমেটিক ট্রেন প্রটেকশন এবং অটোমেটিক ট্রেন অপারেশন প্রযুক্তিও। এই মেট্রোর তিন কোচ মিলিয়ে মোট 700 জন যাত্রী যাতায়াত করতে পারবেন। যদিও এই ট্রেনে বসার জন্য রয়েছে মাত্র 173টি আসন।

প্রসঙ্গত, আজ রবিবার দুপুর একটা নাগাদ উত্তরপ্রদেশের মেরঠ দক্ষিণ থেকে মোদিপুরম পর্যন্ত দ্রুততম মেট্রো রুটের উদ্বোধন করবেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী। সেই উদ্বোধন প্রক্রিয়া শেষ হলেই ওই মেট্রোতে চেপে মেরঠ দক্ষিণ পর্যন্ত যাত্রা করবেন তিনি। এদিন প্রধানমন্ত্রীর সাথে উপস্থিত থাকবেন মেট্রোরেলের উচ্চ পদস্থ আধিকারিক থেকে শুরু করে ভারতীয় রেল মন্ত্রকের কর্মকর্তারা।
