বিক্রম ব্যানার্জী, কলকাতা: হরমুজ প্রণালী (Strait Of Hormuz) নিয়ে উত্তেজনার মাঝেই এবার বিকল্প বাণিজ্য পথ বাব-এল-মান্দেব প্রণালী (Bab El Mandeb) হয়ে ভারতে পৌঁছল বিপুল অপরিশোধিত তেলবাহী ট্যাঙ্কার। জানা যাচ্ছে, এমটি সানমার হেরাল্ড নামক ওই জাহাজটিকে গার্ড করে নিয়ে এসেছে ভারতীয় নৌবাহিনীর একটি যুদ্ধ জাহাজ। এই খবর নিজেদের ওয়েবসাইটে জানিয়েছে ভারতীয় নৌসেনা। নৌবাহিনীর তরফে জানানো হয়েছে, 20 আগস্ট, ভারতীয় নৌ বাহিনীর বিশেষ মিশনের অধীনে নিয়োজিত একটি ইউনিট নিরাপদে ওই তেলের ট্যাঙ্কারটিকে ভারতে নিয়ে এসেছে।

বিকল্প পথ দিয়ে ভারতে এল বিপুল অপরিশোধিত তেল

বাব এল মান্দেব লোহিত সাগর, ভারত মহাসাগর এবং সুয়েজ খালকে সংযোগকারী একটি অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সমুদ্রপথ। পশ্চিম এশিয়া থেকে তেল সহ অন্যান্য অত্যাবশ্যকীয় পণ্য এই সমুদ্রপথ বা বাণিজ্যিক জলপথ দিয়ে আমদানি এবং রপ্তানি করার ব্যবস্থা রয়েছে বলে ভারতের জন্য এই জলপথ অত্যাধিক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। ঠিক সে কারণেই বিগত দিনগুলিতে এই জলপথের উপর নজরদারি বাড়িয়েছে ভারত।

গত 20 আগস্ট, ভারতীয় নৌসেনার বিশেষ মিশনের অধীনে হরমুজ প্রণালীর বিকল্প বাণিজ্যিক জলপথ বাব এল মান্দেব দিয়ে ভারতীয় তেলবাহী জাহাজটিকে সম্পূর্ণ নিরাপদে এবং সুষ্ঠুভাবে দেশে পৌঁছে দিতে বিশেষ যুদ্ধ জাহাজ নামায় নৌসেনা। আর সেই যুদ্ধজাহাজই গোটা জলপথে ভারতীয় জাহাজটিকে নিরাপত্তা দিয়ে দেশের বন্দরে পৌঁছে দিয়েছে।

বলাই বাহুল্য, বর্তমান সময়ে পশ্চিম এশিয়ায় উত্তেজনা বৃদ্ধির ফলে বারবার খোলার পরেও বন্ধ হয়ে গিয়েছে হরমুজ প্রণালী। ঠিক সেই পরিস্থিতিতে এই বিকল্প জলপথ দিয়ে তেলবাহী জাহাজ পরিচালনার বিষয়টি ভারতের জন্য অত্যন্ত তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ। তবে সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে বিভিন্ন হুথি বিদ্রোহীরা এই জলপথের উপরেও কড়া নজর রেখেছে। শুধু তাই নয়, সাম্প্রতিক সময়ে তাদের বেশ কয়েকটি হামলার কারণে বাব এল মান্দেব দিয়ে জাহাজ চলাচলের ক্ষেত্রেও দেশে ঝুঁকি রয়েছে। সেই সব দিক মাথায় রেখেই ভারতের তেলবাহী জাহাজকে দেশে পৌঁছে দিয়েছে ভারতীয় নৌসেনা। যা সত্যিই প্রশংসনীয়।
